A Pandemic Can't Stop Alison

Greetings!

A global pandemic couldn’t stop me from exploring my range as an actress, entrepreneur, and producer in 2020, officially one of the most creatively fulfilling years of my life.

But before I launch into my professional highlights, first and foremost, I fell in love, and wrote about romance during the coronavirus for Glamour Magazine.

As an actress, I played Electra, a lesbian life coach, in independent short titled The Dependents. You can view the film here.

During New York City’s strict lockdown, I co-founded an online theater company — one of the first to embrace Zoom as a platform for theater — and we’ve performed every Sunday evening. Getting creative with props, setting, and digital performing pushed me to grow and helped me realize: I am a damn good actress! Only took me 25 years and a pandemic to figure that one out. BroadwayWorld published an article on our group.

As an entrepreneur, I built Pink Wisdom, my female empowerment business. We filmed a documentary featuring 25 women from over 15 countries, again utilizing Zoom for interviews, and adding footage the women captured from their daily lives. You can learn more in this press release.

I published my second bookfeaturing advice from Pink Wisdom experts on relationships and careers. I’m happy to send you a free copy if you’re interested.

Feeling inspired and needing a laugh (didn’t we all in 2020), I brushed off an old comedy project called The Dinger. And with my company Neurotica Productions, I worked with writer/comedian Kate Robards and actress/singer Lucie Fleming to write and film original comedy shorts. Check out a few of them here.

I even got into the podcasting game, discussing personal growth with experts like author Austin Channing Brown, artist Meghan Boody, and The Barrow Group co-artistic director Lee Brock.

Along the way, I created a shiny new website, updated with new marketing materials, and even picked up representation with a Los Angeles agency.

While 2020 didn’t leave me with much wiggle room for event planning, I managed to throw a small gathering outside with a few of my favorite actors and much-missed live music.

I am manifesting a series regular role in 2021, with Reese Witherspoon’s career as my inspiration. I follow advice I received from Julianne Moore: “The main reason for my success is I say yes to everything, no matter how stupid, silly, or small.” My ask is that you think of me if I fit the specs for your casting needs.

We all write our own script in life, so I am posed to win an Oscar for turning 2020’s lemons into lemonade.
